“Original breakbeat rock and roll”, “Boere kwaito”, “Electro-rock”, name it what you will — there is no band that sounds like Thys Nywerheid. Comprising Dawid Kahts on guitar, vox and programming and James Sharpe on turn tables and vox they have been strutting their unique brand of funkadelic grooves all over Gauteng since 2007. Husse Met Lang Messe, their debut album was recently released to great critical acclaim. Always pushing the envelope, they are currently working on their second album which will take the band into a completely different direction. Expect a heavy dose of groove, socio-political commentary, humour and wantom insanity at their live performances.
