Bittervrug

BittervrugCharles Badenhorst is the entirety of Bittervrug, although one wouldn’t think that when listening to the music he creates, it appears that he has a legion of spirits with him — some benevolent and some malicious, but they all hold you close and tell you everything is going to be alright. Bittervrug is best described as being one of the most spine-chilling artists to date on One F Music. He hails from Pretoria, South Africa and is an animator by profession in the day, and by night he is an emotional being who feels with his whole soul. The content comes from deeply felt experience — this is an honest artist who doesn’t sugar-coat his music so it can be formulaic to be good. All geniuses have their own style, and Bittervrug is one of those. When listening to Bittervrug one goes through a series of hurts, joys, hates and deep depressions all surrounded by the music which regardless of how you are feeling takes you on a journey of self discovery and different view points. His first release, Bloed Vir Ontbyt kicks you in the crotch and then soothes you. Some are revolutionary and some follow the pack this man stands on his own.

Bittervrug se tweede album Daar’s Wolke Buite, is vroeg in Maart 2010 vrygestel.
